Top Hat Boys!

Introducing some very fancily dressed boys! My top hat Tea Party boys! Inspired by the wacky tea parties from Alice in Wonderland, these boys were created with a fun design in mind. A fun top hat, Loopy hair and a removable blazer. There are a lot of possibilities for creation and design with this pattern. You can find the pattern on Etsy or Ravelry.

Just like the Top Hat Tea Party Girls, this Pattern has been tested for accuracy, clarity and broken links. This is a fun, easy and quick pattern! You will be making enough dolls to sit around the tea party table for sure.

You can also find the girl version in my Etsy and Ravelry Shops as well.

I hope you enjoy these patterns as much as I do! As always,

Happy Stitching

Top Hat Girls Coming Soon!

Just in time for Spring Craft events, these Top Hat girls would be wonderful to add to your craft table. The pattern is in testing as I write this! I’m very excited to get this pattern published.

These Top Hat girls are really simple and are actually very quick to work up. As with all my patterns, I want Amigurumi to be fun and easy.

I often hear From others about how Amigurumi is hard or some people feel like their skills aren’t good enough but I’m here to say, YOU CAN DO IT TOO! My patterns are geared towards beginners or even if you have never made many Amigurumi dolls, the patterns are very clear and to the point.

The best part about this pattern is the million ways you can color coordinate! I’m having so much fun making them. Soon, another edition will be added to the Top Hat collection.

Stay tuned for the pattern release announcement and the newest pattern on the work bench.

As always, Happy Stitching!

Thicket the Deer is here!

Thicket is making his debut!

Well, the pattern for my second “It’s Spring My Deer” pattern has finally be written and has went through it’s first round of editing. Soon enough, I will have it go through testing and revise the final draft. Creating Thicket has been a blast and I’m very happy to see my lady Deer have a Boyfriend. Thinking about giving her a name.

What should I name my Female Deer?

Hopefully I can come up with some ideas.

Don’t they look so cute together? The patterns will be released sometime in February. Just in time for Spring! Hopefully these dolls will make their way into an Easter Basket somewhere.

Please stay tuned for the pattern release. I am going to be having a huge pattern sale to celebrate their arrival! 50% off all patterns in the shop!!! You can’t beat that.

Until then, Happy Stitching!

Should have gone to bed early.

I need my coffee to be my first line of defense from my two adorable and high energy toddlers. Both of which woke up at 6 am. I know that’s not so bad but when you don’t fall asleep until 1 am? It’s rough. It’s all my fault though. I couldn’t stop crocheting!!! Now I know all you moms/dads understand that sense of freedom you feel once those darling angels are sleeping soundly in bed. Those uninterrupted hours are such a joy that sleep just gets put to off to the wayside.

Below are pictures of my wonderful babies. They are full of energy and chock full of imagination!!!! Right now they are ripping through the house and it’s not even 8 am yet!!! Positive note, they will be ready for an afternoon nap which then leaves me to my next question…..

What should I do in my spare time?

Crochet?

Or…

Housework?

Laundry has been long overdue and those dishes are looking at me funny! The children’s toys need to be straightened up as well.

However, my brain calls me to my hook and yarn! I need to be strong and just get those chores done. Then it will be another long night of freedom to crochet?

Sounds good. For now, I’m going to jump into the fun games my kids are playing because those two are the most precious and time sensitive little beings in my life.

For now….

Stayed tuned for my next update! I’m going to let you know where you can find my really awesome new pattern for my Treasure Charm Mermaids. Then I’ll be uploading my new little piggies pattern to the site! I hope you will enjoy those patterns.

Until next time!

I’m just Getting Started

Making SoftStrings Yarn Designs even more official! Today I sat down and started to think…. how can I really get started in the world of crochet? I have had my Etsy business for a few years and made a few patterns but finally have the heart to start selling and share a bunch for free. Then I realized that I needed a good place to share it all. A Blog!!!! So here I am. Blogging in the late hours of the night while my kids sleep and I can hear my husband snoring in the other room! Should I sleep? No. Not yet. Hah!

As you can see, we are outdoor girls.

I would like to introduce myself to you. Just a little bit. My name is Brittany and I own SoftStrings Yarn Designs. I’m 28 and love my family. I am a mother of two beautiful girls. Ages 3 and 2. 16 months apart. I’m a wife of 5 years to my wonderful husband. I am a mini homesteader and love to garden and preserve the food I grow. I’m a fiber artist also. I crochet, spin wool, beginner embroiderer and pattern designer. I think I have a pretty interesting life. I’m a stay at home mom and love it! (even though some days feel longer than the next). I really couldn’t wish for a better life.

I hope to get this blog up and running fast! Every day I am adding new patterns and info. Time isn’t easy for me to obtain because of my two growing kids. However, I think this will be a good thing. I’ll be sharing my newest patterns and behind the scenes activities of how my patterns are made and inspired!

If you happen to come across my new blog, Please follow my page! SoftStrings Yarn Designs and I will gladly follow your wonderful blog back.
