Due for an Update

imageIts has surely been a long winter for me. Now that spring is emerging and warmer weather is frequent, I have been very busy. I know it’s been a long while since I last posted! So I am very very VERY excited to let you in one what I have been up to these days. Before I begin, I would like to apologize for the lengthy time I have been away. Between kids, husband, family, household duties, work, crochet, spinning wool… well you get the gist of what I am trying to explain. It’s a lot! We all go through it.

List of all my updates!

1. I have created my very own logo for my business. As you can see, it’s in the left hand corner of this post. I am very excited to have my own design that can be watermarked onto my photos. I made on in bunch of colors to fit moods, holidays and seasons. It’s very exciting. I feel official!!!

2. I have been working VERY hard getting patterns designed, written, tested, edited and released. It’s slow going but it’s coming along. After I have released 35 original patterns of mine, I will be holding a pretty awesome pattern sale. Be sure to stay tuned for an update on the sale.

3. I have acquired Angora Bunnies! They are fuzzy, sweet and ooooh so amazing. This is the start to my new endeavors in spinning fibers into yarn. I have my spinning wheel and grooming tools out now! My new buns are producing excellent fibers. I also have one more on the way from Kentucky. I’m so happy I could do a little jig! Be sure to stayed tuned for an adorable and fuzzy post all about my buns. You know, the woodland creatures. 😉

4. Sheep and wool festival is this weekend. It’s going to take up a lot of the weekend so no pattern progress obviously. I will be learning more about animal husbandry, sheering wool, sheep, rabbits and alpaca. Really, it’s a weekend treat and I’m looking forward to spending this time with my husband and kids. We are really planning on making fiber arts a big part of my life and possible a real career for me.

5. The following weekend I will be at a close by fiber arts school learning how to spin wool even more! It’s an intermediate class and I have been practicing for a while now. I should probably work a little harder at it this week so I can feel confident in showing my instructor the skills I have developed.

6. Stay tuned for updates on my newest patterns! I will be releasing posts about each pattern with links on where to find them! They are pretty amazing. I will also be updating the SHOP portion of my website with new links to Raverly and Etsy so you can get all those cute patterns and create awesome things.

That Wraps it Up!

Well, this is all I really have to say today. I will be adding new posts nearly daily when I get the chance to show you the bunnies, sheep and wool festival, spinning wool class, and my patterns. Thanks for the time and I appreciate all my followers. You are the best!

It’s Springtime My Deer!

display 4I am pleased to announce that my newest pattern will be published in the near future. I’m very excited to release this pattern just in time for Spring!!! (Maybe a little early). This newest pattern is titled “It’s Springtime My Deer”. The inspiration for this pattern came from my love for Spring, Nature and Animals.

I live in the North where the winters are so cold and frigid. This year, the temps have been in the single digits with blistering winds and not even a promise of snow. So as I snuggle up with a hot cup of tea at night, after I lay my two girls to sleep, I started to wish for warmer weather so we can enjoy the outdoors once more. Being cooped up inside can really take a toll. So that is when I grabbed my hook and yarn and got to Stitching! This is what I have designed and I’m rather pleased.

So, this pattern is my dream of spring. Flowers in bloom, Nature enjoying the newly grown leaves and the sun breaking free from the overcast and freezing winds. “It’s Springtime My Deer” showcases Spring by the light pastel colors (If you choose to use them). Her dress is a three tiered skirt to resemble a flower in full bloom. I plan to embellish her with butterfly buttons and silky flowers.

Once this pattern is released, her male counterpart will soon be in the works. Thicket the Stag’s pattern will soon to be announced.

Her dress is made of so many petals! Inspired by flowers in full bloom! I chose to use a very light purple, second, a very light pink and lastly, a dark purple.

I also wanted to add extra details on her face. The little V stitches on her face really create the deer look. I’m just loving the way she looks!display 5

I’m just so excited for you to meet her! Links to her pattern coming soon!

Life Doesn’t Wait

I have an inspirational calendar and each month I plan to take action with what each month says. This gem is January. My special month because not only does it mean a fresh New Year, but also it’s the month of when I was born. New Year, New Age and Fresh Goals.

Sometimes in life, we try to do things on a schedule or life calendar. We try to plan when and where events will take place, when we will finally square away all those little things we’ve been meaning to do. However, as that beautiful song by Green Day says “Life grabs you by the wrist and directs you where to go”. Those words couldn’t be any more true. We can try to plan out our life as best as we can but life will ultimately rule when it happens.

There is no time like the present to start doing what you want to do. Wishing for something is fine but that’s just the starting point. That wish should quickly be turned into “I will”. As we work towards our goals and aspirations, we can accomplish so much. Don’t wait or wish! As another famous saying goes, “Just Do It”!

To make this short, the subject of this post:

Be a Verb in a would of Nouns.

This is what I plan to be. I’m finally taking an action to gear up my business, gain more sales and reputation. It’s just the start, but it’s no long just a wish.

Should have gone to bed early.

I need my coffee to be my first line of defense from my two adorable and high energy toddlers. Both of which woke up at 6 am. I know that’s not so bad but when you don’t fall asleep until 1 am? It’s rough. It’s all my fault though. I couldn’t stop crocheting!!! Now I know all you moms/dads understand that sense of freedom you feel once those darling angels are sleeping soundly in bed. Those uninterrupted hours are such a joy that sleep just gets put to off to the wayside.

Below are pictures of my wonderful babies. They are full of energy and chock full of imagination!!!! Right now they are ripping through the house and it’s not even 8 am yet!!! Positive note, they will be ready for an afternoon nap which then leaves me to my next question…..

What should I do in my spare time?

Crochet?

Or…

Housework?

Laundry has been long overdue and those dishes are looking at me funny! The children’s toys need to be straightened up as well.

However, my brain calls me to my hook and yarn! I need to be strong and just get those chores done. Then it will be another long night of freedom to crochet?

Sounds good. For now, I’m going to jump into the fun games my kids are playing because those two are the most precious and time sensitive little beings in my life.

For now….

Stayed tuned for my next update! I’m going to let you know where you can find my really awesome new pattern for my Treasure Charm Mermaids. Then I’ll be uploading my new little piggies pattern to the site! I hope you will enjoy those patterns.

Until next time!
